IDA DERBESSE
1st violin
Immersed in a musical environment from a very young age, Ida Derbesse grew up in a family of musicians. Early on, she developed a deep affinity for string quartet, an ensemble that is now the center of her artistic commitment. She has passionately explored this repertoire since her teenage years, guided and inspired by her mentors including Sergey Ostrovsky, himself a renowned quartet player.
At the same time, she regularly performs as a soloist, with the Orchestre Colonne and the ensemble Via Luce, and she is a laureate of several competitions, including the SSPM Competition in Switzerland and the Johannes Brahms Wettbewerb in Austria. Her chamber music activities have led her to perform at prestigious festivals and venues such as Wigmore Hall in London, La Roque d’Anthéron International Piano Festival, the Gaïa Festival and the Schubertiades of Thônex in Switzerland, as well as Muzyczna Korzkiew in Poland.
Invited as concertmaster and assistant principal with various orchestras in France and abroad, Ida has participated in numerous symphonic projects and tours, especially since her involvement in the New Academy of the Orchestre de Paris in 2019.
She studied at the Haute École de Musique in Geneva, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris, earning all her diplomas with distinction.
Today, Ida leads a rich career, nurtured by curiosity, the pursuit of excellence, and a deep love for collective music-making.
