ELENA WATSON--PERRY

2nd violin

Born and raised in Paris, Elena Watson-Perry did the majority of her studies in France, where she worked under the guidance of artists and pedagogues such as Stéphanie-Marie Degand, Sarah Nemtanu, Suzanne Gessner, Igor Volochine, Stéphanie Moraly, Thibaut Vieux, Catherine Montier, and Aurelio Perez.

She graduated from the Paris National Conservatory in 2020 and, looking for a different approach, completed a graduate program at the Cleveland Institute of Music in Dr Olga and Ilya Kaler’s studios. The alliance of the vastly different French and Russian schools of the violin enabled her to become a more accomplished and versatile musician.

Particularly invested in chamber music, she has given many performances, outreach concerts and pedagogy driven interventions. She followed intensive string quartet and piano trio training, benefiting from the teachings of members of Dover, Emerson and Debussy quartets, as well as Jaime Laredo, Sharon Robinson, François Salque, Denis Pascal and Claire Désert. Back in Paris, she joined the Magenta string quartet in October of 2022.
