ELENA WATSON--PERRY

2nd violin

Born into a family of musicians, Elena set her sights on a musical career from a very young age. She studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Stéphanie-Marie Degand, where she also founded the quatuor Vigrid, gaining her first concert experience.

With a strong commitment to making classical music accessible to all, she is actively involved in various cultural outreach initiatives.

Before joining the Magenta Quartet, Elena spent two years refining her skills at the Cleveland Institute of Music. There, she took part in several intensive programs focused on sonata, piano trio, and string quartet. She received guidance from members of the Emerson and Dover Quartets and participated in numerous projects.

Her strong interest in contemporary music led her to explore this repertoire, collaborate on new works, and become acquainted with a wide range of musical languages.

Since 2025, she has also performed in a sonata duo with pianist Paul Baert, with whom she presents thematic and eclectic concert programs.
